Junior Nic Bergman, also known as “IcoNic,” is an up-and-coming music artist. IcoNic has been showing off his talents since 2022.
“It’s mostly just a one-man show, I write, I play the instruments, I sing, and I rap,” Bergman said. “Every once in a while, I get some friends to help shoot my videos.”
Being a music artist comes with its benefits, whether it’s the opportunity to put yourself out there or the chance to become something big.
“The challenges are living in Kansas, there’s not a lot of opportunities here, so hopefully I get to go to Los Angeles or something like that someday,” Bergman said.
The most important thing in a career is what someone chooses their stage name to be. Names could affect someone’s career if they pick a name that people will disagree with or hate.
“I had a list of like 30 name ideas in 2022 when I first started, and I showed them to my brother, and we just kind of went off of there and crossed them all off, and ‘IcoNic’ was the last one left,” Bergman said.
Living in a small city, it is hard to get recognition when not many people to live with around the area. For Bergman, he had a small show at Fischer Field; most people learn to enjoy the little moments of the beginning of their career. The dream that everyone wants to achieve someday is to make it big.
“I wanna inspire others so that they know that they can do it even if they’re from Kansas or wherever, it doesn’t matter,” Bergman said.
Bergman is currently working on new music, opportunities, and goals for the upcoming year, but did not disclose his information; but gave a hint.
“ I don’t think I can disclose that, but my goals are to release a song [once] a month for all of 2026 and maybe even something even bigger,” Bergman said.
