To wrap up winter homecoming week, a pep assembly was held in Ravenscroft Gym on Feb. 7.

The assembly was made up of many events including, performances from the cheerleaders, Railiners and pep band. STUCO introduced the winter homecoming candidates to the student body, followed with games between each candidate led by the cheerleaders.

“I had a great time with the candidates because we got to bond really well throughout the week and being able to play the games with them made the week a whole lot better,” senior Tony Lemus said.

The Railiners made a surprising twist mid performance, ending as an unsuspected flash mob. Not only did principal Lisa Moore perform with the Railiners, students in Michelle Schrag and Michelle Eron’s classes, homecoming candidates and other students were incorporated into the dance also. Each student in Schrag and Erons’s classes were paired with a Railiner to dance with, the performance left many in the crowd with a smile.

“I enjoyed getting to know my partner and work with them before the performance, I was really happy to see all of the people participate and be able to watch the crowd get excited,” junior Sierra Wedel said.

As an end to the assembly, Lemus led the student body in a chant to get the students excited for the basketball games that would be played that evening. Along with the chants, students sang the “Alma Mater” together.

“When we all chant everyone gets loud and hyped, it’s really fun being in that type of environment and it brings all of us together,” junior Braiden Botterweck said.
