Junior Nicole Tran scrapes frosting out of a container to eat.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, students in Spanish club were given the opportunity to create valentines cards for friends or family and to decorate sugar cookies using frosting and sprinkles. Spanish club participates in arts and crafts often. In the past, they’ve decorated rocks with positive messages as well as decorated sugar skulls for a “Day of the Dead” celebration.

“My favorite craft was probably when we made piƱatas out of a paper bag,” sophomore Azeneth Ramos said. “We decorated the outside with colored tissue paper and the inside had pieces of candy.”

The crafts are always based on holidays or events going on during the school year.

“My favorite craft was making a booklet at the beginning of the year to hang in our locker,” junior Irvin Zamora.
