Senior Henry Claassen celebrates with the senior team after winning the final game against the juniors.

The ninth annual Powderpuff football game was held on Nov. 8 at Fisher Field. The event is put on by the Business Professionals of America (BPA). Students received a discount to get in if they brought a can of food or non perishable item to later be delivered to Agape Resource Center Inc. They collected a total of four boxes of food that night along with around 700 dollars towards the BPA students expenses towards different competitions and events throughout the year.

Each year, a team of girls in each class compete against other classes for first place. Each team is coached by students on the football team. For the first game, the freshmen played the seniors and the juniors played the sophomores.

“This is my first year playing. Since it was my senior year I decided to do it just to keep those moments,” senior Abigail Jackson said.

Sophomore Abigail Green explains the opportunities this activity provides.

“[I chose to play] because it’s a fun school activity and I get to hangout with friends outside of school,” Green said. “It gives girls a chance to play football, which doesn’t really happen in high school, just getting the guys and girls together to play a sport.”

The night ended with the seniors winning against the juniors for their second game, receiving first place overall.

“I was ecstatic, I was so happy. It was so much fun,” Jackson said.
