Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, with everyone having a personal taste. Coffee is sold throughout the world by many different establishments like restaurants, gas stations and coffee shops like Starbucks.

On Feb. 27, Starbucks opened a new location in Newton for all to enjoy. Students at Newton High School now have the pleasure of enjoying Starbucks at any time of the day.

“I really like it, and my mom and we went to that Starbucks and got nine different drinks for my family and really enjoyed [it],” freshman Kaitlyn Pemberton said. “[My drink] was not as sweet as the other drinks and is really good. It’s my go-to when I am stressed. But in my family we don’t really go to Starbucks, we go for natural stuff like tea.”

With everyone having different tastes, it’s especially important to have a menu with variety when it comes to food and drink. Students might not like coffee and might order something else like juice. Starbucks knows this and caters to them as well with a wide variety of choices.

“[I get] a venti Pink Drink with two pumps of vanilla and sweet cream foam with lite ice and no strawberries. It’s a refresher and it’s also very sweet so you get both,” sophomore Mikayla Powell said. “I would recommend a regular Pink Drink just because it’s a refresher.”

People don’t always get the same thing and sometimes switch up orders and explore a new option. Starbucks is no different with the number of choices from refreshers, juices and coffee that are catered to everyone.

“I have been to the new Starbucks and I think it’s really nice,” sophomore Mara Oswald said. “My go-to order is the mango dragon fruit refresher. I like more sweet drinks than coffee and I always try to order new things. Sometimes I think Starbucks is overrated because I do like to support local coffee shops, but they also have a wide variety. I would recommend trying out the refreshers and the cake pops.”

Whilst everyone has a different opinion on taste, Starbucks covers that and provides everyone with a wide variety of flavors and options, allowing students here at NHS to fully customize their drinks and their experience.

“It may be a little pricey but it’s worth it,” Pemberton said.
