Senior John Jantzen hugs soccer coach Robin Montano after his introduction on Senior Night held at Fischer field.

On Oct. 17, the junior varsity soccer team played a game against Andover Central held at Fischer Field. The JV team kept the score 0-0 for a while until close to the end of the game when Central scored a goal. Unfortunately, the game ended in a loss for the Railroaders. The team huddled after the first half of the game and talked about what they need to improve before the second half.

“They [the team] need to start talking, we have to, we all need to,” sophomore Yael Aramburu said.

After the first JV game, senior night took place during half-time before the Varsity game. All the seniors and their guardians were individually announced and introduced. Each senior hugged their parents and thanked them. It was an emotional moment for many people as the hard work and dedication of the seniors were recognized.

“It was very emotional, I was sad it was my last time playing there,” senior Xander Valdivia said.

Some of the seniors plan on continuing on with soccer and playing in college. The underclassmen have built very strong bonds with the seniors and were emotional during the senior night announcements. All the mothers of the seniors were given flowers to hold by soccer coach Robin Montano prior to everyone walking onto the field. After the announcements were over, the underclassmen shook hands with the parents of the seniors and hugged their senior teammates.
