Auto Shop

The auto shop is just one of the outdoor buildings that offers a specialized career pathway. Students engage in a variety of activities, including buying and repairing cars, as well as accepting and repairing cars from community members, to provide them with an education.
Sophomore Jesus Bustillos said Auto I teaches him not only how to fix things, but apply different techniques. Students in Auto I have the class every day and for a whole period. Currently they are learning how to torque down bolts on an engine as well as working on the engine stations.
“[We learn] just the basics, how to change oil and tires and he [the teacher] teaches you the basic fundamentals about engines and how they work,” Bustillos said.
