Senior Kolyn Sauceda points at a player who is open.

The boys varsity basketball team went to the annual El Dorado tournament this year playing the 23rd 24th and 25th placing third as a team. Jaxon Brackeen and Kolyn Sauceda got All Tournament Team following the game saturday night.

“I think we played really well as a team, only had a few rough quarters but the starters followed through keeping us in the close games that we had,” sophomore Owen Mick said.

Brackeen had 21 points followed by Sauceda with 15 during the first game against the Manhattan Chiefs beating them 92-81.

“The most fun game we had was the first game against the homeschool kids, we all played really well as a team and everything was just getting put together correctly,” Mick said. “I even got to go in.”

The team is currently 3-6 with 6 games left before substate. They travel to Salina Central Tuesday, Feb. 4 looking to bring home the win.
