Freshman Benjamin Friesen Guhr defends against an outside wing player during their second home game against the Eisenhower Tigers on Sept. 20.

The  junior varsity soccer team suffers a defeat from Eisenhower with a 0-1 loss. On Thursday, Sept. 20 The Railers fell against the Tigers after hosting on Fisher Field. This is the second loss the team has had for the season.

Freshman Benjamin Friesen Guhr played left defense for the full game. He has played soccer for five years and plans to continue playing through high school and college.

“I got to work on breaking down back there, not letting them pass me and containing more so I don’t get passed,” Guhr said.

To improve the outcome of the next game, sophomore Omar Hernandez, JV captain, suggests improvements on communication and shots.

“We need to work on better passes,” Hernandez said. “ And also heads up when you hit a ball, and crosses and better foot skills and faster touches.”

The Railers host again on Tuesday, Sept. 25 against the Hutchinson Salthawks.
