Have you ever felt the need to randomly get up, go on a run, make food, go out, or just be productive? I get random spurts of energy throughout the day and it can be extremely helpful to me and make my day fulfilling because sometimes I don’t have any energy to do anything. If I don’t get up and find motivation to do something productive during the day, then the whole day goes downhill.
Sometimes I have no motivation to do anything. I will lay in my bed for hours on my phone and it really takes a negative toll on my mental health. I really enjoy getting up and doing things, but it can be so hard. Things like taking a walk, baking brownies, yoga, hanging out with friends, and more are fun but are hard to accomplish. It keeps my heart full when I can actually get out of bed and do things that make me happy.
It is hard to get out of bed, it’s hard to get off my phone, it’s hard to clean my room and it’s hard to go to work or even go to dance class. It’s hard to find motivation throughout the day. If I have work at 3:30 and I am home from school all day, I will think about working all day and how much I don’t want to go. I will waste my entire day doing absolutely nothing and then end up going to work with low energy and a negative attitude. When I get up to do something, even if it’s just going outside for 30 minutes and soaking up the sun, it makes me feel ten times better.
I am the type of person who likes to have a to-do list or have the entire day/month prepared and planned out. For me, It helps the day flow and keeps me from stressing out about something so little. I like to have a calendar of everything planned out through the days of the month.
According to S.P Richards, it’s proven that planning out your day with a calendar can help with a healthy routine, add organization, and help shape your life. If I write something down on my to-do list that I need to do during the day like a homework assignment, taking my check to the bank, or working on a specific dance I need to memorize, I can see a full layout of what I need to get done. Crossing it off the checklist makes me feel so accomplished and proud of myself.
This is the last article I will ever write and publish, so I figured that I would talk about something important to me, which is how productivity and planning out your days can have a happier effect on your life. Since I feel so strongly about being productive and it is something that I tend to struggle with quite a bit, I wanted to write about the struggles of finding motivation so that others can find a way to relate to these common feelings.
