Although there aren’t famous students at Newton High School, there are many students who share birthdays with celebrities. After discovering their birthday twins, students began to wonder if they were anything like the celebrity and if they had any common goals.
Sophomore Makayla Peterson has the same birthday as actor Ryan Reynolds, born on Oct. 23. Ryan Reynolds is 47 and she is 16, so the age gap between them is quite large, at 31 years.
“I think he is funny and cool. I have also seen many of his movies,” Peterson said.
However, Peterson doesn’t think she and Ryan Reynolds act alike at all. They also don’t have similar styles or look alike, although she does think it would be cool to be Ryan Reynolds.
“I would love to be married to Blake Lively,” Peterson said.
Ryan Reynolds makes about $350 million. If Peterson made that much money, she would give some of it away, but spend the majority of that money on food.
“First thing I would do with $350 million is buy a car,” Peterson said.
Sophomore Ashley McMullin has the same birthday as singer, Demi Lovato, whose estimated worth is $45 million. Demi Lovato and McMullin share a birthday, Aug. 20. Demi Lovato is 31 years old, making her and McMullin 15 years apart in age. If McMullin was Demi Lovato, she would rather not be a famous person.
“I would not like having as much attention as a celebrity receives,” McMullin said.
Demi Lovato lives in Texas, where McMullin would rather be than here in Newton.
“I think living in Texas would be fun because there are a lot more fun things to do there, like go to the beach,” McMullin said.
If McMullin made as much money as Demi Lovato, she would spend it on a nice house and save the rest of the money.
“I would save the rest of my money for my family or to go on a crazy vacation somewhere cool,” McMullin said.
Sophomore Emma Gering shares her Aug. 14 birthday with Bryce Hall, who is known for his TikTok and YouTube videos. Bryce Hall lives in Los Angeles, but Gering would not enjoy living there.
“I would like to visit Los Angeles, but not live there because it is busy,” Gering said.
Gering believes that she and Bryce Hall are not alike nor look alike because he is a boy and also dresses fancy. Additionally, Bryce Hall makes about $1 million a year.
“I would spend that money on vacations to travel around the world with family and friends,” Gering said.
Gering would not enjoy being this Bryce Hall because of both the positive and negative attention he receives.
“He gets hated on a lot and I don’t have any interest in being a celebrity,” Gering said.
