Over the years, celebrities have made and left enormous impacts on society. Whether it be Madonna, a pop singer from the 80s, or Kim Kardashian, a present reality TV star and lawyer, they have all made their mark on the world and have changed the fame industry.
A group of people that celebrities have the biggest influence on are teenagers. Celebrities can affect a teenager’s life through their behavior, the way they identify themselves and even their frame of mind. Junior Izzy Rowe said that she saw a quality that stood out to her in Kris Jenner. She has only been a fan of Jenner for a few months after a friend showed her Jenner’s content.
“I really appreciate her work ethic and how she is a rich, independent women,” Rowe said.
Jenner was able to gain her work ethic by managing her well-known family, the Kardashians. From acting to modeling, she manages it all. After all of that, she still makes time to love her six children and 12 grandchildren. Although Rowe is inspired by her time-management skills, she only considers herself a fan, not a super-fan.
“I follow her on all social media and I check it everyday,” Rowe said.
Another Kardashian-crazed student at Newton High School has proudly shown her obsession with Scott Disick ,an American media personality who rose to stardom in 2007 when the hit reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians first aired. He first appeared in season two, portraying Kourtney Kardashian’s loving boyfriend and the father to their three children Mason, Rain and Penelope Disick. The couple eventually separated but that didn’t stop Disick from his path to fame, nor did it stop junior Mariah Ramos from Disick being her favorite celebrity.
“[Disick] has a free spirit and free personality. He doesn’t care what people think and I love that for him,” Ramos said.
Ramos has looked up to him and his humorous personality for about three years now, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Ramos is so obsessed that she follows him on all social media and checks it every single day.
“If I met him I would say, ‘I’m so obsessed with you and I love how you live your life,’” Ramos said.
Another more low-key celebrity obsession at NHS is through foreign exchange student, Katarzyna Nowaczyk. Nowaczyk traveled from Poland to the United States just about a month ago, and she has loved to share some of her culture through her favorite music artist, Dawid Podsiadlo. She became a fan of Podsiadlo two years ago when her dad showed her some of his music, and has been a fan ever since.
“I really enjoys his music and would like to learn to play some of it on guitar,” Nowaczyk said.
A project that Podsiallo has worked on, The Before and After Tour, is one Nowaczyk is very fond of. The tour is where he travels to different parts of Poland and shows off his many musical talents.
“I try to check in on his social media every day and would also like to meet him as well,” Nowaczyk said.
