Want to send a Crush to your crush? Seniors Demi Henson and Kaitlyn Grattan are in the lunchroom today representing the Job for America’s Graduates class and giving students an opportunity to send a Crush soda to their crush. Students can fill out a small note and write who it’s to. On the back of the note, they include the recipient’s seminar so the JAG group can deliver the soda on Valentine’s Day.
These notes are anonymous, so your crush doesn’t know who their Valentine is. The JAG group is doing this for a competition in which other schools in their region are competing. When asked, career specialist Deanna Trumble said JAG set up this event for competition.
“Career development conference and that is a way for JAG students to use the knowledge and experience that they gained in class to compete against themselves and they compete against JAG students at other schools,” Trumble said.
The competition these students are competing for can take them all the way to Nationals in Orlando Florida.
“Not only is it a competition but it is also a really good way for Newton JAG students to get to know some Wichita JAG students, Dodge city JAG students, Kansas City JAG students [and] Beloit JAG students,” Trumble said.
