On Monday, Sept. 28, Newton High School reported it’s second case of COVID-19. The school was notified of the individual’s positive test result on Saturday, Sept. 26, however, the individual had not been present in the building since Friday, Sept. 18. The first case of COVID-19 was reported on Monday, Sept. 21, exactly a week before the second case. 

Similarly to the first case present at NHS, principal Caleb Smith notified parents and guardians of the positive test result through email stating, “USD 373 takes this matter very seriously… Although this incident was outside our control, we are taking every measure to maintain a safe learning environment for our staff and students.”
