Burning off some energy, FACS teacher Molly Schauf runs through the halls with Kaete Schmidt’s son, Theo, during Schmidt’s parent teacher conference. Schauf is working with the Schmidt family to create a daycare to support teen moms while they are at school. “Anytime we would go to talk about ideas Theo would come. And then I was Ms. Schauffs teacher aide..so Theo and her have slowly gotten closer over time,” Schmidt said.

At the end of the dual the team comes together for a huddle. Newton fell short to Derby that night with the score just 31-38. “I knew it was going to be tough coming in, Derby’s ranked #1 in class 6A. We were able to shift our weights around to give us an advantage to keep it close. We almost had it there in the end,” coach Tommy Edgemon said.

Lending a helping hand, junior Amanda Smith helps senior Payton Fenwick hang up the Under the Sea sign on the back of the Railiners trailer. The sign was made by sophomore Taylor Tasaka. I think that my under the sea sign turned out really well, I think that once we added the glitter, it added the finishing touch, Tasaka said.
