Junior Alex Krogmeier celebrates after making a good play.

The varsity boys basketball team hosted Salina Central on Jan. 29 in Ravenscroft gym. The team got behind early in the first quarter but got it down to within six at half.

“We started out pretty slow they had at one point a 16 point lead, we were shooting the ball to much and not making it.” Said Sophomore Jaxon Brackeen

After the second half started the Railers found themselves behind again by 16 points. With a couple good defensive plays and some good shots the boys got ahead by two with a 1:29 left in the fourth. By the end of regulation the two teams were tied and heading into overtime.

“We stopped settling in the second half and started taking it to the lane and their league started to decrease.” said Brackeen

The team won 64-56 in overtime with some crucial made free throws by junior ty Berry and Senior Demarious Peterson.

“I knew we were going to win the game we already had all the momentum going into overtime.” said Brackeen
