Smiling, Spanish teacher Cheryl Loeffler sings ‘Feliz Navidad’ with Spanish club.

Club de español meets once a month. During November’s meeting, members enjoyed chips and salsa.

“We always eat food. Mexican food. It’s really good,” sophomore Valery Landrum said.

Student leaders, juniors Priscilla Araujo and Nicole Tran, distributed paper bags filled with candy. Club members decorated the paper ‘piñatas’ with colored tissue paper, string, markers, and other decorations.

“It was fun because I like decorating things,” Landrum said.

Spanish club boasts more than 40 members. Members watch movies and participate in holiday-related activities.

“Some things are more fun than other things,” Landrum said. “The people in there make it really fun when they participate.”

Spanish club’s next meeting will be held Jan. 18, after Winter Break.
