Varsity Football Game
The varsity football team had an away game against Goddard Eisenhower on Oct. 12. They defeated the Tigers 32-7. This improved their record to 3-4.
Eisenhower’s first drive resulted in their only touchdown of the night. But the railers responded quickly with a touchdown of their own, rain in by senior Colton Davis, bringing the score to 6-7. It didn’t stay that way for long, Davis ran for another touchdown to get the lead, 13-7. Then right before the half Davis completed a touchdown pass to junior Josh Edson to improve their lead to 19-7.
“I thought our performance was better than weeks past. Our defense stopped them after their first drive and our offence performed well,” said Edson. “I feel like I did pretty good, I went 5/5 for 105 yards.”
After the half the railers completely shut down the Tigers, holding them scoreless in the second half. Davis ran for his third touchdown making it, 25-7. At the end of the quarter of Davis found junior Boone Roberson in the end zone, 32-7. The defense stopped everything in the fourth and the railers started putting in second string. They celebrated a big win with the final score of 32-7.
“(Winning) Felt great, were 3-4 now and we have another game coming up this Thursday, feels good going into playoffs. Hopefully ending regular season 4-4.”
