In result of it being the swimmer’s last home meet of the season, the team held an invitational on Dec. 9. The boys hosted 9 teams and placed sixth with a total of 123 points. For senior Patrick McCallister, this was his last meet as a Newton High swimmer along with the rest of the seniors on the team.

“Something that I will miss is mainly hanging out with the guys during practice and the meets, and being able to bond with some of the team and other seniors as well,” senior Patrick McCallister said.

According to sophomore Konner Jaso, the seniors are going to be missed for the way they welcome and or respect newcomers to the team.

“I am going to miss how welcoming the seniors are and I’m going to miss the leadership that they give especially since I am a first year swimmer on the team,” sophomore Konner Jaso said.

After this meet, members of the team knows that there is always room to improve and there are always things to work on to prepare for their next meet which will take place on January 25 at Heights.

“I think our team could improve on our effort at practice and I think that each of us can work on our form when we swim as well,” sophomore Konner Jaso said.
