On Nov. 5 Senora Ochoa celebrated the Day of the Dead in her 4th hour class, which is a celebration of loved ones who passed away. Many believed that the souls of the dead return to visit the living families in homes, businesses and cemeteries. They hang up pictures of people that have passed to celebrate that they are still with them.

“I learned how a different culture celebrates there holidays,” sophomore Clayton Smith said. “It was very interesting to learn about a different perspective on the holiday.”

The students could celebrate by playing games, putting frosting on skulls, making paper flowers or use the VR headsets. The majority of students used the VR headset to experience holiday in virtual reality.

“It was fun using the headsets,” Smith said. “I can’t wait for next year.”
