Juniors Josue Coy Dick, Ezekiel Thompson and senior Raistlin Angolo sing together with all the choirs for a final song.

The first choir concert of the year was held on Oct. 8 in the Auditorium. The concert was composed of Santa Fe Honor Choir, Chisholm 7th and 8th grade choirs, Les Chantes, Railaires and Choraleers. The choirs collaborated on various songs as well as singing on their own.

“I really enjoyed [our last choir concert]. I do think it was probably my favorite concert that I’ve been a part of at the high school, besides Pops and Jazz last year,”  senior Grace Clayton said.

Clayton is a part of the show choir, Railaires, and describes the change in atmosphere this year.

“We have a lot more people from band this year when in the past there haven’t been a lot of people in band, so that’s definitely different. We also have an even number of guys and girls which is a good balance,” Clayton said. “This is the first year that we’ve had an even number of guys and girls in railaires and we’ve had more people in general.”

As a first year member, junior Jonah Schloneger explains his experience in Railaires so far this year.

“[As my first year in Railaires], I think it’s better than what I expected, to be honest. It’s been really fun, both vocal wise and just doing things with everyone,” Schloneger said. “A lot of the events have been really fun with everyone, like fundraising for our trip in spring. I think classes themselves and learning more about how to sing have been really cool.”
