The Girls Gymnastics team hosted their last home meet on Oct. 5 in Ravenscroft Gym with their JV and Varsity teams. Being the last home meet of the season, it also served as senior night for the only senior on the team, Becca Meyer. As gifts for senior night, Meyer received a blanket from her team and a custom cup from her coaches.

“It was different in the beginning getting recognized and all. Honestly, I didn’t really think about it during competition. But, on the drive home afterwards I kinda got sad realizing it was my last time competing on home turf,” Meyer said.

The team received an overall score of 93.05, taking second place.

“I feel really good about [the meet]. It was one of our top scores as a team and our hard work really paid off in that meet, and I really think we showed what we’re made of,” Meyer said.

Teammates participate in different bonding activities, such as team dinners before meets and other hangouts outside of practices.

“This year our team has definitely been more of a family than last year. We’re a lot closer with each other and we’ve made a lot more memories,” Meyer said.
