Freshman Camryn Entz and sophomore McKennah Cusick jump up to try and get a block.

The varsity and JV teams played Independence on Sept. 12, varsity winning in 3 sets and JV losing in 3 sets. Since it was just a dual the teams played best of 5 instead of best of 3.

“It was very tiring, but we had more time to fix our mistakes and figure out our problems,” freshman Camryn Entz said.

This was the second game of the season, the team thought they would have to switch up their roster, because sophomore McKennah Cusick was sick but ended up being better by the game and played most of the game.

“I feel like I was definitely still sick but, I eventually got over it and I drank lots of water,” Cusick said, “but I feel that I could’ve played better if I wasn’t sick.”

Since then the team has had a tournament and another dual, their record now is 4-5, and will travel to Salina on Sept. 24.

“I think the season has gone really well, we know how to play together now. We play more as a team and our chemistry is better. I hope the rest of the season will go well and we continue to play as a team,” Entz said.
