Sophomore Braiden Botterweck takes his turn through the food line.

To celebrate all the hard work and dedication put in throughout the year by both the yearbook staff and news mag staff, the journalism department gathered in the Lecture Hall on May 5th for an end of year banquet. Food was provided by the staff members for themselves and their families to enjoy during a presentation put on by journalism teacher Mrs. Montano.

“I think it was fun to celebrate with our families and show them what we do throughout the year,” sophomore yearbook staffer Shelby Spreier said. “I think the awards made each staff more unique.

Each staffer was given their awards they earned at KSPA regionals, as well one made by each editor of the staff for something special they brought to the staff that year. The new editors were also announced and given a certificate.

“It was exciting to see who the new editors were going to be for the next year,” Spreier said. “But it was sad to see the old ones go.”
