Senior Faye Smith starts the opening ceremony.

The FFA Chapter held their annual end of the year banquet on April 22, in the auditorium and cafeteria. There was a catered meal for all the families of the FFA members. After the supper, there was the opening ceremony and awards handed out. The seniors Ethan Entz and Faye Smith gave speeches. Smith has been involved all 4 years of high school.

“I think that over the years my FFA experience has been kinda crappy. I loved it, just compared to everyone else, I’ve been through 5 advisors. I’ve had a lot of troubles getting to connect to an advisor and trying to strengthen my SAEs and things,” Smith said. “But overall showing that no matter how hard people are going to beat you down, and tell you that your not worth it, you can still compete and still be part of an organization.”

Entz also has been apart of the FFA chapter all 4 years, serving as this years secretary. He has made many new friendships and enjoyed being on the leadership team for the past 3 years.

“I think being able to be in control of your ‘people’. Being in control of your FFA chapter, knowing what’s going to happen and being able to organize some of the events,” Entz said.

As many people take ag classes to one day pursue a career, Entz is doing exactly that.

“I am planning on studying Ag Missions at Dordt University. And being involved with agriculture in high school has made me want to continue it in college and make a career out of it,” Entz said.
