Senior Antonio Snyder will be taking a leap of faith this fall by joining the McPherson college cheer squad without prior competitive experience.

“Ever since I started cheering over the summer I decided that cheer was the sport I was interested in most,” Snyder said.

Each summer Snyder cheers for a month at K-State Salina Polytechnic. He has been cheering since freshmen year.

“[Over the summer] I tried to work on tumbling and it didn’t go very well but I learned a lot of one on one stunting,” Snyder said.
Snyder will be going to McPherson college for either biology or biochem to major in pre-veterinary.

“I chose to go to McPherson because their cheer team is starting to compete next year and I like that. Also because it’s close to home and they have a 100% acceptance rate into grad school,” Snyder said.
As he gets ready to start a new period of his life, he prepares for new changes.

“It’s kind of scary starting in college but I think I’ll end up catching up pretty fast. I have people there that I already know on the squad, but I don’t know anyone from high school that’s going,” Snyder said.
